For centuries, spectrometers have been one of the research focuses of the scientific community because of their advantages such as high accuracy, large measurement range, fast speed and small sample usage.
However, "large size, high cost, and need for professional operation" have always been the most difficult difficulties to overcome in the development of spectrometers.
Any scientific research must first undergo repeated theoretical calculations and verifications before it can step into the research and development process of technology and equipment. Theoretical construction alone is an "impossible task".
Over the past 20 years, Associate Professor Ke Zhenghao of the Institute of Automation and Control at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology has led a research team that has not only miniaturized laboratory-sized spectral detection equipment into a "spectrochip" the size of an SD card, but has also successfully The spectrometer has been reduced to a size that can fit in the palm of your hand and can be carried around for testing at any time. In the future, we will build a health care network connecting home and hospital through cooperation with professional medical institutions to realize telemedicine, precision medicine, AI smart medicine and preventive medicine.
The research team led by Professor Ke used groundbreaking innovative technology to manufacture spectral chips using a wafer production method, which not only successfully reduced the size of the spectrometer to a significant extent, but also made it portable.
It has a wide range of applications and does not require professional personnel. You can do the test yourself anytime and anywhere.
The test results will also be uploaded to a cloud database. By integrating with professional medical institutions, a health care network connecting home and hospital can be built to achieve telemedicine and preventive medicine.
The "Shenguan Precision Rapid Screener" developed by the research team has been used by many hospitals for antibody quantitative rapid screening, and the antibody detection sensitivity of the Shenguan Rapid Screener has been confirmed in clinical trials in many medical institutions. , which is more than 1,000 times the international standard "Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay, ELISA", is a groundbreaking new technology with the uniqueness and superiority of early trace detection of antibodies.
How does the Shenguang precision rapid screening instrument achieve the four major advantages of fast, economical, accurate and wide? The "Shenguang Precision Rapid Screening Device" currently supports 5,000 antibody rapid screening studies at Wanhua Hospital in Taipei City, giving full play to the advantages of "fast, economical, accurate, and wide"
"Fast": The entire antibody test process is completed within 15 minutes (compared to the hospital's machine, which takes more than 2 hours to process and test samples);
"Economical": only one drop of blood is needed, and no sample pretreatment is required; "Accurate": the accuracy is the same as that of the machine in the hospital; "Wide": the machine is small in size and can be used to set up testing points.
Moreover, the data can be uploaded to the cloud instantly for real-time big data analysis of epidemic investigation. It only takes 10,000 "Shenguan Precision Rapid Screening Devices" to be widely distributed throughout Taipei City, and it will take 5 days to complete the precise rapid antibody screening of all citizens of Taipei City. Testing points can be widely set up in clinics, health stations and other places, so that antibody testing can be "decentralized" and there is no need to go back to the hospital for testing, which can greatly reduce the current burden on hospitals.
It is expected to assist in "decentralized testing". The "Shenguan Precision Rapid Screening Instrument" can accurately detect the concentration of neutralizing antibodies in the human body. Detecting the concentration of neutralizing antibodies can accurately measure the protective power of the vaccine.
Professor Ke’s team is working with the FDA CLIA laboratory at Temple University in the United States to conduct precise and rapid screening of neutralizing antibodies. So far, 400 people have completed clinical trials, and the match rate with the large machine comparison is as high as 98%. Currently, we are preparing to apply for emergency authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). If approved, "Shenguang The "Precision Rapid Screening Device" will be the world's first proof-of-concept (POC) neutralizing antibody precision detection device, which can be widely used in personal doctor consultations, clinics and other locations.
After passing EUA in the future, 600,000 clinics across the United States will become the market for the "Shenguan Precision Rapid Screening Device", which can fully realize the ideal of "decentralized testing".
The detection platform of the spectrum chip is based on the concept of a universal machine: everything has a spectrum. In the future, it can be applied to blood, tumors, various chronic diseases, urine, pet urine, and even food safety, plasticizers, industrial heavy metals, semiconductor factory pollution, etc., and after combining AI intelligent big data operation and analysis, it can achieve long-term End-to-end charging, telemedicine, remote long-term care monitoring, and precision medicine.
